I felt so "blah" that night. Of course visits to the ER are much like labor - totally unexpected. Thankfully you don't end up being the only one in half clothes half pj's and your hair undone. :)

Thanks though!Stefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10459648375598937579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343847381959367245.post-42615643382238117722008-04-24T22:45:00.000-07:002008-04-24T22:45:00.000-07:00So scary. And I don't think it's strange that she's had a high fever while teething...Jenna doesn't react that badly (except she's a raging grump for a day or two) but Bruce's mom has always talked about how horribly sick her kids were when teething. So - I think your doctors are being a little close-minded on that one. :-)

These pictures totally break my heart! I'm so glad she's safe and getting a bit better now.

-->in other news, you look adorable. Even at midnight in the ER (but maybe that's because I'm a sucker for pictures of moms with their babies).laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02454751765772893600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343847381959367245.post-21282506674773848432008-04-24T22:21:00.000-07:002008-04-24T22:21:00.000-07:00haha, thanks Jill! I actually have only met one or two moms that say their kids don't react at all to teething.
My Doctors REFUSE to say that kids can show symptoms, other than excessive drool and that's the one thing my kids have never done while teething.
They get runny noses, fevers, Ethan threw up once, they get abnormally clingy and fussy, lack of appetite and more -- never have they acted totally normal.

We were warned about the rash she might be getting. I'm glad they said something because that would have freaked me out. :)Stefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10459648375598937579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343847381959367245.post-60105525035735054752008-04-24T21:29:00.000-07:002008-04-24T21:29:00.000-07:00How scary!!! When my kids had really high fevers at times, I would continually wipe them with damp washclothes. The coolness, plus the evaporation on their skin helps.

It will be interesting to see if she breaks out in a rash in a week or so. That type of high fever can be Roseola, which is very common at that age and starts with a high fever.

Anyway, glad she is okay! I'll pray for her. (((hugs)))

Oh, and yes...our kids all got fevers when teething. :)jillycohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10470895635772746674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343847381959367245.post-16466467313501804982008-04-24T13:12:00.001-07:002008-04-24T13:12:00.001-07:00yes, that's true. We were starting to wonder if she just didn't have those baby teeth.
She said that she's heard those 4 teeth can often cause bad ear pain.
Who knows... its just an odd connection to me.

She's doing much better today, though still running slight fevers. She woke up around 5am with a fever back up to 104.9 so she and I didn't get a ton of sleep last night. :(Stefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10459648375598937579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343847381959367245.post-57700413518910014132008-04-24T13:12:00.000-07:002008-04-24T13:12:00.000-07:00yes, that's true. When I got my wisdom teeth, I wasn't sick either. But, I guess teething could cause a weakened immune system, right? Because of stress?Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00616238682696645579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343847381959367245.post-72224588814000498022008-04-24T11:54:00.000-07:002008-04-24T11:54:00.000-07:00I don't think its any small coincidence that Rache...I don't think its any small coincidence that Rachel is getting 4 teeth right now. My Doctors have always disagreed with me, but both my kids react badly to teething. Ethan always got high, mysterious fevers and sometimes even threw up. Especially when it was more than one tooth at a time.
Does anyone agree with me?! I can't be the only person that sees this connection. I know when I got my wisdom teeth I ran a horrid fever (almost uncontrollable and also threw up several times.
I just hate when I present the idea at the Dr. they right away say "kids don't run fevers when they're sick."

I want to say I also would get ear pain when I teethed as a child.
Anyway... I'm out to prove this. :)Stefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10459648375598937579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2343847381959367245.post-86718349695063548172008-04-24T10:51:00.000-07:002008-04-24T10:51:00.000-07:00Wow, that sounds like a scary one.
