Exciting news from the Arnold home!

Rachel is walking!! For the past month she's been able to take maybe one unstable step and then she'd fall down. For the past week or so, she's been able to take 2-3 steps ok, but nothing more. 
Today, we were at our friend's house and Jason was helping her walk to our friend Kay and she took about 5 steps... then 10... then 15! 
By the time we got home tonight she was walking clear across the room and letting go of furniture and walking on her own! She still hasn't figured out how to stand up all by herself, but we'll be there soon. 
Its so weird to see her walking! She seems way to big. :(

We know you just didn't want Kyle to feel like he was the only one who didn't walk until 15 months;)

Yay Rachel! Isn't it cute how once they figure out a new skill, they want to do it over and over again? Babies are so awesome. :-)
Look out now - she'll really be into everything.

Oh and PS - you feel bad having your 15 month old way, I met a mom yesterday who's 10-month old girl was walking nearly as well as Jenna (who's 16 months). I would have cried if Jenna walked that early. ;-)

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
