Miles: 10 months

Hey Buddy! Here we are at the close countdown to your 1st birthday! Crazy. You're suddenly acting like such a big boy and I now understand  all  the conversations Moms have had where they talk about their boys and how if they turn around for one second, their house will be torn to bits. For us, that was always Kara. Or Rachel  with  Kara. But, we officially have a boy who is very much a little destroyer of all things he comes into contact with. You are very determined and very active when you're awake. Daddy was taking care of you the other day and he texted me this:  "wow, when Miles is awake you really can't take your eyes off him for one second."  - so true. On the bright side, you have such a happy spirit and its quite infectious. Your smile brightens up a room and we have people stop us all the time at the store to tell us how adorable you are and how gorgeous your eyes are. I'm hoping it stops soon because I'm worried it will go to your h

These are from our Christmas photo shoot. Our photographer friend gave me the CD with all of them on it, but we had just gotten back from CA and life set in and got rather busy. I just looked at them all and have so many I want to frame now! I wanted to share some that I thought were super funny. Jason was is famous for photobombing in this way.... so the phrase "like Father, like son!" applies here.  this sequence made me LOL.  Candice doesn't always pose people. She also doesn't tell you how to stand or how to smile.  I like that about her. She capture real moments and our kids tend to do what they normally do, which is funny... usually.  This was SO true to life, I really laughed-out-loud when I saw it.  see the look on Miles' face?! Yes.  "Please.make.them.stop.kissing."      and I think he's been wanting to do this for quite some time.... this shot is what really got me.  Kara's honor has been impun

We have an 8 year old in our home! A couple weeks ago our firstborn baby turned 8. I keep saying it, hoping it will sink in, but it still hasn't. His birthday was delightful. He shares a birthday with Yours Truly, so Jason took the day off work and we spent a fun family day together.  So we started the day with breakfast at our favorite place and then drove up North to an amazing indoor sports center with mazes to climb through, rides to ride on and trampolines galore to bounce away on. Trampolines even on the walls so you can literally bounce off walls. It was delightful and yes, the newly 33 year old had herself a blast and lived it up big. I even did some flips and such that made me feel equally young and old all at the same time. There was a foam pit, people. You bounce down the trampoline and land in a foam pit, which probably sounds as easy as it looked, right? Not right. Once you're in the pit of foam, its next to impossible for a big, heavy adult to climb out. T
