Its what Ethan suggested a couple weeks ago. "Lets take our lunch to the lake today!" My first thought was to go on and on about how much needed to be done at home and how dinner needed to be prepared, but I looked outside, saw the Spring like beauty and knew we had to jump on this great idea. So we packed our lunch, popped a chicken in the oven to bake {always my 'last minute' dinner} and took off for the lake... Our baby has entered his 30's with his Daddy and me! Rachel likes to talk about how we're all "30 something" now. We've entered the final stretch of this pregnancy and I'm happy to report, everything looks great! Baby has one nice, strong heart beat at every appointment. I still cry when I hear it; such a miracle to me. He's a bit ahead as far as growth goes, but not so far ahead they want to move my due date or anything. Plus, since I miscarried in early/mid July, we pretty much know I couldn't have gotten pregnant any sooner than I did. His kicks and movements have gotten much stronger. Its fun to not only feel body parts, but we've had times when we see toes and a fist and can actually tell what's poking through. He so reminds me of Ethan with his movements. The girls both moved as if they had lots of energy and were playing around. Ethan always moved as if he was trying to stretch out, but couldn't. And it totally fit his personalit

{I've been really bad about blogging lately, sorry.} Ethan and I celebrated our 32nd and 7th birthdays on February 6th! We started celebrating on Saturday, since Daddy had the day off work and enjoyed a day of park playing, visited a beautiful lake/beach near our house and ate breakfast out.  he's 7. someone please pinch me.  she loved the ring sucker that Grandpa & Grandma sent :)      Birthday twins      the face. I have no idea why she made it, but it makes us laugh.  Maybe that's why she does it :)     the girls did this slide about 50 times; screaming and giggling every time :)  On the evening of our actual birthday we got a sitter for the girls and Jason and I took Ethan out for his birthday dinner in Seattle, all by himself. We had a really nice time and enjoyed the alone time with him. He remarked several times how quiet it was without the girls there :) We got to sit IN the trolly car at the Spaghetti Factory

My friend Christine does a 'Favorite Things' post every so often and I love it. I get a lot of great ideas from her posts and almost everything she raves about {that I've tried} I end up loving it too! So here is a list of just a few things I'd bring with me, if I were gonna be deserted on an island somewhere. Last week my friend Jill's Mom {Joyce} lost her battle to cancer. She had been a very sweet friend to Ethan; a very special friend. She and Ethan exchanged letters and emails, she sent birthday and Christmas gifts to him and was such a good example to him of what it looks like to trust the Lord in ALL situations and to commit everything to God in prayer. Ethan went from praying over the course of 2+ years for God to heal her from cancer, to realizing a couple weeks ago, the best prayer would be to pray for God to bring her Home quickly and relieve her of her pain and to begin praying for 'Mr. Cap' since he would soon be without his wife and sure to miss her very badly. Their last name is Caplinger, but as a 2 year old, that was hard for Ethan to say... so to him, they're the Caps :) I asked Ethan if he wanted to write something out; a sort of 'in remembrance' note and he said he did.
