I haven't felt well all week long. Its just a common cold, but I think because I ignored it early on and just kept going, going, going... my body is now punishing me and forcing me to slow down. Its the head pressure that gets me the worst. I can't stand feeling like, from my eyebrows up, my head will explode. I don't get sick very often. I think the last time I was sick was sometime last summer, so I feel like because of that, I'm such a baby when I do get sick. I hate taking meds, I hate taking naps in the afternoon and I cannot stand having to slow down and feeling like an invalid. Ha! I just realized why I don't like being pregnant! Too funny. Anyway, I'm sick. Its the pits, but there is so much to be thankful for. Can't help but think of the people in Chile and other places that are being evacuated due to the earthquake. I have SO much reason to stop complaining about such small things and be thankful, which I am. Very thankful. But I've been pray

when they arrived

I forgot to bring a camera to the train station, so we took pictures when we got back to the house.  my mom was showing the kids some recent pix she took of their cousins.  I loved this one of Rachel playing w/Mom's hair :)  Kara got warmed up to Papa right away...  ... and the two of them became buddies all week. Ethan took this one...  ... and this one then my Mom surprised him by taking this one... ..... and here was his reaction :-)

We've had an amazing visit with my parents this week! They arrived last Sunday night (via Amtrak) and leave early Saturday morning. We've missed them SO much since we moved and thoroughly enjoyed our time with them. The weather was really perfect all week; they've been able to see all our weather patterns in 7 days time! I think my favorite part so far has been the Space Needle in Seattle. Jason has been up before, but I had never gone and neither had my parents. So Ethan and I went up with my Mom and Dad and I'm not even sure words can describe it. Amazing & Spectacular are the two words that come to my mind... but they don't seem to do that view justice. God's gifts to us in what we see around us in creation shows off just a tiny glimpse of His goodness to us. Because I took a lot of pictures (and I'm not even posting half of them here) I'm putting this in 3 posts... so after you see this one, the others are below it.  my Mom has no idea Jase

Ethan and my reflection in the window  this was a computer screen with a live view of the outside.  Ethan was able to take the joystick and move it around to get different views.  he told me he was high enough to look for Heaven :)  Ethan noticed that these clouds look like an H and an E

Jase and the girls waited for us at the bottom waiting to go on the rides...  Kara loved the ride!  She was screaming and kicking and clapping her hands on the Monorail, the driver let Ethan and Rachel sit in the front seat!  He also let Ethan honk the horn before take-off.

Tuesday's Thoughts

What I'm thinking:   That even though my parents are sick of cold, rainy weather, I'm hoping we get to enjoy some soon!  What I'm reading: This week it was my Bible and How To Behave So Your Child Will Also (my friend Gina gave us this book and its been the BEST parenting book we've ever read!)  What I'm listening to:  Ethan is asking if he can have cookies for breakfast :)  What we're learning:  that having family come visit is SOOOO much fun! And Ethan and Rachel have been learning to look out for the interest of each other, before themselves.  What I'm watching:   Last night we sat and watched a couple episodes of Lost and my parents had never seen it. I think we sucked them in :)  What's cooking:  Made an Italian stew last night and tonight we're having grilled salmon.  What I'm buying:   Nadda.  What I'm wearing:   pj's :)  What I'm thankful for:   my parents.  What I'm creating:   more laundry needs to be

the day has come!

My parents arrive tomorrow night! We are so very excited, its hard to even explain. We've missed them so much since moving here. They were such a huge part of our lives and fully enjoy their role as Grandparents, that having them so far away has been rough on our kids especially. They miss the fun they had with Nana and Papa and are thrilled about the following 7+ days. It would figure though, that all 3 kids came down with pretty bad head colds on Thursday and Friday. Ethan hasn't been sick since October, Rachel hasn't been sick since the beginning of December and Kara's last cold was in late December and this week, of all weeks, they get sick. Oh well. These are times when I just say "such is life." We stayed home today, took lots of little naps here and there, watched movies, played the wii, read books, and stayed in pj's all-day-long. It was delightful. Only hard part was, it was another warm, sunny day and we hate staying in doors on the warm, sun

during the week...

saw this cute movie moment.  they were cuddled next to each other, enjoying Kipper Jason was doing the taxes last week and I looked over and saw the royal treatment  he was getting from his girl. She was very happily "giving his feet a rub" :)  this morning she told Jason "you're the bestest Daddy I ever saw"  the weather this winter has been incredible up here. Most of our sunsets take my breath away. I was doing dishes the other night and saw this one and wanted to capture it. This is the view from our kitchen window...  oh, we played house and lived under the kitchen table.  there were dolls and dress-ups everywhere.  and this was our bus.
