Popular blog question, answered

My blog layout/design has had one popular question this past year and I decided it would be easier to write it here, than email curious people back, as I get emails. So, the layout and design was set up by my husband. I haven't discovered a secret website that you all can't find and I certainly don't have time to learn all the coding stuff on my own :) He's pretty much just that amazing. And while I'm sure he'd love to have time to help everyone with theirs, he doesn't have the time {sorry!} Thanks for the compliments on the site - its always nice to know people like the look of your website :)

we love visitors... especially family

Jason's family came up for a visit! His parents had planned on coming up on the 10th and then at the last minute his sister and her husband decided to come as well! It was SO fun having everyone together - which doesn't happen often since we moved :( Jeff and Jenny surprised our kids and Jason's parents with their visit, which was pulled off quite well and everyone was shocked. They stayed until Sunday and Jason's parents flew back to CA on Monday night. We celebrated Jason's 30th birthday with them, which isn't really until the 19th, but we pretended. Grandpa and Grandma also brought a few gifts for the kids. Our Thanksgiving

We have created quite a few traditions over the past few years, especially since moving far away from family and having some holidays where its just the 5 of us. Thanksgiving happens to be my all time favorite holiday {with Easter as a close second} and I think the reason I love Thanksgiving so much is, its truly all about family, with no other distractions. We start the morning off {always staying in our pj's} with the Thanksgiving Day Parade and the make ahead breakfast casserole I make, passed down from my Grandma and my Mom. This year I added cinnamon rolls to the casserole and fruit salad, which was a perfect addition. We go around the table and talk about what we're thankful for - always fun to hear the differences that range from, thankful for family members, Sunday School teachers, food, Daddy's job and then things like Hello Kitty and Target ;-) her favorite part of the parade :)   skyping with the Bettis & Smoak's
