Hitchcock
Have you ever rented one of your childhood favorites, watched it and then wondered why on earth you liked it?! I did that tonight. When I was younger (maybe age 12-20) I had such a weird fascination with Alfred Hitchcock's movie Vertigo. I noticed it was going to be on TV last week, so I asked Jase to DVR it for me.
He's working late tonight and the kids are watching Ice Age, so I snuck in my room to watch it.
Sad thing is, I still find it very interesting! Movies with very little talking, but that still manage capture my attention seem to thrill me; Cast Away comes to mind. That movie is a masterpiece and half of it has NO talking!
Anyway, I finished Vertigo and half of me wondered what's wrong with me and the other half just thinks I'm really deep. Haha. :)
Do tell... what are some childhood faves that you used to like and no longer do or ones you still hold quite dear.
I have those few that I'll never let go of; Anne of Green Gables, Sound of Music, Star Wars 4,5&6, Five Mile Creek and more. But, I'm eager to hear what yours are.

I loved Robin Hood (Disney Cartoon) when I was young, and I still love it. My husband just got me the dvd of it last Christmas and I was so excited!
Well Stef, on this topic, it always makes me chuckle to think of the movie "Touch of Mink" that we got a big kick out of, as kids. Then, when we were older, we rented it for Emily & realized what the movie was about. We didn't have a clue as kids! You remember? The Cary Grant/Doris Day movie - he's trying to get her into bed the whole film!
Buttercream Gang holds a very special place in my heart, but I know what you mean Krista.
The old Disney's are great! I tried to get Ethan all excited about Peter Pan, but no go. He's too used to all the new fancy Pixar movies. I think he likes Robin Hood, so maybe he's just not into the story of Peter Pan.
Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorites!
I love Anne of Green Gables, Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Emma, Sense and Sensibility and all those movies.
And Krista - Robin Hood was my favorite Disney movie too! I still love it...but haven't watched it recently.
Aahh...The Court Jester.
This is such a nice walk down memory lane, Stef. :-)
Also, anyone remember the Tales from Avonlea? I loved Felix. Like alot. I wanted to name one of my sons Felix, haha!
I loved Brady Bunch and Get Smart!
Buttercream Gang is a Feature Films For Families movie. SO cute, with such great lessons for kids to learn. If you can get your hands on it, your boys might really enjoy it.

We were big time Five Mile Creek watcher. My aunt and uncle own the whole series. I have recently watched the whole thing. So great.
I loved the family channel growing up. And the Waltons were a favorite. I remember watching a lot of Nick at Nite when I would baby sit late.
