Who says girls aren't like boys?

I've heard the saying "Girls are much easier than boys!" all too often. These past several weeks Rachel has proved that saying wrong. She is far more into things and mess making than Ethan ever was, at this age. :) He was much more inclined to sit with a book, play with some cars, bounce a ball, etc... She, on the other hand, is into reorganizing things, taking ALL the books off the shelf, dumping things out of bags, etc... she keeps me on my toes way more than he did. But, her personality (so far) is easier to deal with than his. Ha! There's trade offs at every corner. :)

Anyway, this morning I was using the bathroom (the one thing I do alone) and I heard the pantry door open and panicked because I realized I had forgotten to lock it. I hurried up and ran out of the bathroom just in time to find my daughter in a huge pile of popcorn all over the kitchen floor. My first reaction was to flip out, but all I could hear was Rachel saying "Mommy! Corn!" she was eating bits and pieces and just looked quite pleased. So, instead, we had fun wit it and tossed the popcorn around (like you would do with leaves in the fall) and had fun with it before cleaning it up. This picture makes me laugh because she was kind of thrown off when I didn't freak out and started snapping pictures of her.

Not sure how many of you remember the comet cleanser mess Ethan made back at our hold house - the was
way easier to clean up than that was. :)

Ah yes. This looks like my kitchen did, last night. Shredded wheat, everywhere. And then, the little rascal started running around the house with it all over her bottom & feet. Spread the fun...

Rachel does that too. Sitting in it isn't bad enough, we must crunch it all over the house first.

Haha! Look at her face! "I've been caught!!!"

One of my kids did that with cheerios once; and another one of them spread sticky raisins around. Such fun!

Oh yeah...and just for the record, I personally think girls are WAAAAY more difficult than boys!! After having three boys, my one little girl is much more trouble than they EVER were. (big sigh)

Yay! Look what I get to look forward too!! :)

I agree, Jill. Boys are very basic. What you see is often what you get. I'm sure both bring their trials, but girls are much more... interesting. Not the word I was looking for, but it will have to do.
There are things about Rachel I can tell I'm going to LOVE in a few years. She likes to clean things, she likes to give hugs and kisses and she loves people; says hi and bye to everyone and is super friendly. And so far, she's mama's best friend. :)

Talking about Elijah, Krista... or are you trying to tell us something? :)
Krista said…
Nope Stef, no news like that. :) I was just talking about Elijah and getting into trouble. He seems to have a VERY mischevious personality.

I figured as much. I just wanted to check. I love baby news. :) Elijah will keep you on your toes plenty, I'm sure!

YES! We're already noticing that with Rachel. She can be very naughty in a super cute ways and disguise her sinful nature. I'm trying to be very on top of her little whinny attitude and stuff like that. Its much more obvious and easy to detect in boys.
