The Gift of Spa

I went and had my very first full body massage today! It was wonderful! I got a gift certificate from Jason's freelance manager and I finally made an appointment and did it!

So, not knowing anything (and I mean anything) about getting a massage, I decided to just go at it and learn as I went.
I had no idea it was going to be full body; head, neck, shoulders, back, legs, feet. I was assuming it would just be my back. I ate a very small breakfast, since I was busy taking care of Ethan (he's sick) and didn't think much about what I was eating. I was told by my hairdresser to drink lots of water before going and I did make sure to do that.
I got the spa and the lady directed me to the room where I could change and then directed me to where I was to have my massage. She starts giving me the massage and my stomach is making just... beautiful noises. I was so annoyed. After she's done with my head, neck, shoulders and back... she goes to my legs and all I can think is "I didn't shave!!!" I was again, very embarrassed.

Despite the little embarrassing moments, it was so relaxing and enjoyable. It was a bit expensive ($75.00 for one hour) and I was given more than that on my gift card, so I was also able to buy some of my favorite (but too expensive to buy) shampoo and conditioner! Aveda is a brand I'd buy stock in if we were rich. :)
Anyway... that's my massage story. I'm looking forward to the next time I go, being a little more familiar with it all.

Spas are *wonderful*! If I could afford to, I'd make it once a month, or better yet, once a week! Not only are treatments enjoyable, but good for your health too. John gave me spa trips as gifts while pregnant with the first two boys--fantastic! So gld you got to enjoy the spa--and got product to boot! :-)

Yes! I have felt really good ever since. The lady at the spa said it flushes lots of toxins out of your body and so when you're pregnant, its very good for you. Jason told me I will be using their services next time I'm pregnant. :) Yay!

It was his manager's way of saying "thanks for not throwing a fit over Jason having to do so much overtime work." :)

(Chuckle, chuckle) I like that you told us you didn't shave your legs. He, he, he.

Oh man... it gets worse. I hadn't shaved in like 3 weeks!! Terrible, I know.
Poor Jason. :)

Glad you enjoyed it! We need to make this a regular mommy break together. :) I was watching Jon & Kate Plus 8 and got inspired to go every other month or so...wouldn't that be lovely?!
