a little weird?

Might be a strange thing to ask prayer for, but I'm feeling like I could use it. :)

I'm potty training Ethan this week... next week... as long as it takes. He's doing well so far. I think what helped this time was me telling him "there's no more diapers". He doesn't think he has the choice to go back, so he's just moving forward. Thanks for the tip, Mom!
We're at that rough place where he still won't tell me when he needs to go... he relies on me setting the timer and taking him every 25 minutes. But, if I do that we have minimal accidents, so that's good. Please pray that I would have patience and that he would learn quick.

This is only day 2, so I'm very proud of his quick progress. His goal is to be done by his 3rd birthday, so he has only a couple more weeks. The sticker chart has helped greatly and we got this cool potty chair at Target that really seems to have helped. It plays music when you pee into the potty and so it gives your child something great to look forward to when they go. :) I used to be a major fan of the old fashioned potty training (using no potty chair and sticking them right on the toiled), but this has made me see that they really do need something on their level to connect and understand what's going on. Its amazing how my opinions change after having my own kids. Everything new and inventive does not = bad or unnecessary.
The potty is Fisher Price and it was only $15.00 (highly recommended). You can lift the seat part off and put that on the big potty when they get bigger and use the bottom half as a stool. Its quite impressive.

Hi Gina!!!! Thanks for commenting. Its been forever since anyone has, I was beginning to think no one reads this anymore. I'm taking my setting off of private, so that logging in will be a bit easier -- you won't have to "log in" anymore! And, it makes it way easier for anyone with a feed reader.

The request is not weird at all! I have a friend who told her boy he could have an underwear party once he was potty trained. I think it is a great idea. All of his little friends, boys and girls alike, brought a cook pair of underwear for him!!

So the potty training is going way better than I had thought! He's having 2-4 accidents a day, but I think that's pretty good for a first timer. :) He is starting to show signs of knowing he's about to go. I find him hiding in a corner, or sitting on the lid of his potty chair. Lets just pray that soon he'll get to where he tells me ahead of time. I explained the concept of germs to him last night and it seems to have made him grossly aware of what it is to have his pee-pee dripping down his legs. Yuck. :)

Hey Gina,
That can be scary... do think the comment was from one of my friends? I know several of my girlfriends "lurk" on your blog, so maybe one of them commented? Or, was it obviously a creapy comment from a rather creapy person? :)
