my heros

Many of you know I am addicted to the show Bringing Hom Baby (on TLC). Today I saw an episode that had me in tears through most of the show. This couple has tried, without succeeding to have children and so adopted a little girl from China! Coming from a family where two of my siblings were adopted and living through that whole process, I have come to admire and greatly respect couples that can so selflessly take a baby into their home and love them as one of their own.
Especially in today's age where Doctors can do these unimaginable, crazy things to our bodies to make them reproduce, whether they want to or not. :-\
This couple had such joy and delight in meeting their little daughter and the smiles and tears on their faces was just as precious as those you see in a delivery room. It was very moving. I only hope these kids grow up to know the blessing they've been given.

I love those baby shows! Aren't they addicting? Sure are fun to watch, & tears are a common occurance here--especially when baby first emerges & the family happily welcomes them. Warm fuzzies all over!
Adoption is one of the most beautiful things in this world. In reality, we are adopted as well. God our Father adopted us into His family. Abe and I have talked about adopting. It is such a shame that is it is so expensive. It is almost prohibitive. :(

Jessica, (Right? Jessica is the abe green family? Sorry if I have your name wrong...)
There are a lot of funding options, if you guys really want to adopt. No interest loans, & such. I know that doesn't really make it that much easier. But... Just wanted to make sure you knew!

There are also plenty of babies here that are considered "children of the state" -- they either have minor or major health complications and basically, no one wants them. My heart has always gone out to them. My sister was a child of the state and her adoption was easy, fast and very cheap. :)
Erin you did get my name right. :) That is very good to know. I think at this point I would be more for it than my hubby. We would have to pray and research quite a bit, but I am very interested. It is something that I will probably consider after we have a second baby (if God chooses to bless us with another baby of course).
