New find!

I was chatting with my friend Laura tonight and she directed me to a very awesome website. Mothering.com -- wow. I am addicted to this site! Very informative and very much into mothering, obviously. As Laura pointed out, they are a bit liberal in some of their ideas, but most of the site is so cool!
I came across a cool find too! I think I've decided not to get a hooter hider (I love saying that) and getting one (or two) of these belly huggers. I cannot wait to see how this works! I like the idea of more freedom during nursing and I love the fact that I don't have to worry about what's hanging out there for all to see. :)
Anyway, wanted to share with you all...

Hey! I think you should get a belly hugger and a hooter hider (awesome name!). I love the fact that your skin on the side isn't exposed. That was a problem for me. However when the baby stops nursing, alot of times you are totally exposed in the front (a little more embarassing than stomach or back skin). I think you will really like the front covers. It also helps the baby stay focused and on task.

Remember I am going to buy you one as a gift anyways :)

I have a friend at church that uses a HH and she said that she just always wears a spaghetti strap tank top underneath her normal shirt and then when she nurses, the tank top keeps her tummy and back covered. So this is pretty much the same thing, though you don't have to have a full tank top underneath your regular clothes.
You're buying me one?! I didn't remember that! Cool. :)

That belly hugger thing is COOL! I wish they had those when I was nursing! What a great idea!

I know... baby stuff changes by the year! Its amazing how much new stuff is out there, just since Ethan was born.

Jess, I think your idea of using both is a great one! Especially for when I'm in church or something. :)
Yeah, actually after you mention it. I wore nursing tanks non-stop for about 3 months. That is the same thing I guess. :)

These are cool. But, yes. Still get a hooter hider. They are swell!
I wonder if these belly huggers stay put well. I have a Bella Band, which looks pretty similar. I would have to fix it everytime I stood up - it was always riding up.
What nursing tanks did you use, Jess? I have the Glamourmom tanks. I like them, but they don't fit me quite right. The Med is too small, and the large it too big...
Erin, I actually just used the tanks from Target. They are very reasonable, and they fit me pretty nicely.

While we are on the subject of nursing paraphernalia, I read the other day that Victoria Secret is now offering nursing bras. They are supposed to be really nice. I guess they have thin straps and everything. Don't know about you guys, but I had the hardest time finding a nice nursing bra.

I never used actual maternity or nursing tanks. I would buy the extra long regular tank tops. You can find them at Old Navy a lot and sometimes Macys and places like that. I found that the nursing ones were always too bulky or way too tight.
But I also didn't get a real expensive one, so maybe that's why. :)

Hey Wow! Look how long moms can talk about nursing and nursing accessories. :-) Who knew?

Stef, Erin's comment about the Bella Band reminded me, I had the same problem. It was always bunching up over the top of my pants and thus, defeating the purpose. I wonder if the BH will do the same.

I know, Laura. It always amazes me what posts get most of the attention. :)

I found out that a friend of mine has used the BH with two of her babies and she adores it! She said the Bella Band isn't made to be used after pregnancy and so when she tried it, she realized it was kind of meant to be worn around your butt/lower waist area. She said, as long as you get the right size in the BH you will love it! Here was her only complaint... it can be obvious you're wearing it under you clothes - in a more awkward way than a tank top would. I think I'll try one and see if I like it, but I'll most likely stick with the tank top and the nursing cover.
