Baby kicks

I love feeling our baby kick. Its one of the most amazing feelings to me. I love being reminded that she's really in there, alive and doing well.
Sometimes she's more active at night and its so fun to lay in bed, when the house is all quiet and I can talk and know she can actually hear me. :)

When I'm pregnant I've always made the habit of reading aloud when I read my Bible or any other book I happen to be reading. With this baby, its forced me to always find a quiet place to do my reading, since otherwise, I'm not sure she'd really hear ME over the kids and all the other noise around here.
I can't wait to meet our little daughter; hold her, kiss her and smell her wonderful baby smells, but I'm really trying to enjoy this pregnancy while its here.

I usually feel a sense of panic after our kids have been born - not sure I'm ready for them to face the world. I get worried about the pollution outside, people we might walk by who are smoking, possible accidents happening wherever we are, getting smooshed by their siblings, etc... I know God will take care of her, but its that motherly feeling of "I wish I could put it back in my tummy, where its safe!" that I'm sure you've all experienced. :)

Anyway, this morning I've been feeling her move around in there a lot and it just reminded me of how amazing this whole pregnancy and birth miracle really is!

I loved feeling them kick... The biggest kicks were actually when Emma would hear Nathan preach. So precious! Your girl is blessed to have you as her momma.

keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.
