Memorial Day & Breakfast at Mimi's

We spent Memorial Day around the house, getting lots of odd jobs done. Jason and Ethan did an awesome job cleaning and organizing the garage (seriously, it looks amazing!) and I worked away inside the house - putting some more touches in the baby's room, cleaning out closets and getting a Goodwill pile together. It was a very productive day.



Ethan found the baby's bassinet in the garage!


A couple days later we enjoyed a family breakfast at Mimi's (our favorite spot) before Jason headed off to the office.

It was a very fun day! I know house work doesn't sound fun, but just being together, with nothing really to do was so nice. It was the first Memorial Day, since getting married, that we had NO plans. :)

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. For my simple mind, Blogger worked out much better for me. Sorry, husband.  I've been at this blogging thing for almost 8 years and I'm still not sick of it! keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
