5 years, garage sales and baby gets bigger!

Jason and the kids are sick, so life has been uneventful over the past few days for the most part.
We celebrated our 5 year anniversary last Friday. Can't believe its been 5 years. I think because we've known each other 15 years, 5 somehow seems so short. A friend of mine commented that 3 kids in 5 years is pretty impressive and wonders what the next 5 years will hold. Maybe less excitement? :-)

Jason got sick the day of our anniversary, so we played it very low key (not that we had anything fancy planned). Our kids were getting over their pink eye and my parents graciously offered to have them come for a sleep-over at Papa and Nana's house. So we sent them there, with meds and all! Thank you Dad and Mom!! We took Kara and went to our favorite pizza place called Melos and then Jason surprised me by buying one of my new favorite movies - Marly and Me.
Saturday we held our first garage sale! It was fun, but stressful and a little tiring as well. I forgot how much I hate to haggle and realized how rough it is to communicate with Spanish speaking people when they have no idea what I'm saying. Thankfully I had my hubby there to help a bit with that. We sold about $200 worth of stuff, but had a good $200+ left to sell. We have this Saturday open as well, so I'm planning to put the left over furniture out again this weekend and see if anything goes.

Last week the kids and I met up with my sister and several friends at a fun park in Los Gatos (a park we always went to when we were little). My kids loved it and I enjoyed seeing friends I've not seen in years! The park is huge, with a lake, paths to walk on, big grass fields to run on on lots of different parks to play at.
We had a blast and I took lots of pictures, so I'll be sure to get some uploaded here soon.

Kara is officially 6 months old! We feel like we're making more conscious efforts to soak up all her baby hood, but its still going by way too fast.
She's doing really well these days; seems like she's settled into a nice routine for the most part. She's eating more table food and has completely impressed us with how well she's handling it all. She's already feeding herself cheerios and didn't need any help with it.
Nursing is going well (for those of you that don't know, I only nursed E&R for about 2 1/2 months, so reaching 6 has been awesome). We have our great days and then we have our low days, but all in all we're taking it one day at a time and enjoying it.
She's very attached to me, still has quite the crush on her Daddy and is starting to recognize familiar faces, which is a cute stage.
We got her ears pierced in March and I have to say, she looks quite adorable with her little birthstone studs. :-)
Famous question is "how did she do with it?" and my answer... "she did great!" She cried a bit, but got over it all in about 30 seconds. I don't think its as painful as it is shocking for them.

She is still crawling in the up-si-down army crawl (she gets around the house super fast that way) and shows no interest in crawling on her hands and knees. She's sitting up really well with little support and loves her new jumper toy.
Ethan and Rachel are so in love with her. They were very sad when she began getting too heavy for them to hold while standing up. We had a few weeks there where Ethan was very sad that Kara was turning into a "big girl". He kept saying "when she was in your tummy you said she was gonna be a baby!" so I had to explain that she's only a baby for a certain time and then she grows to be a big girl. I think he gets it now. Although, he's already begun praying for another baby during his bedtime prayers. He's requesting a brother next. :-)

Six months has always been one of my favorite stages. I love all the new things they start doing and how their personality begins maturing. God has really blessed us with Kara.
I love seeing how our kids interact with her and seeing how selfless they can be with her. Ethan is such a good helper boy - when she's crying he runs right over and speaks sweetly to her and tries to make her happy. Jason and I were noting that though we have behavioral issues with Ethan in some areas, we've never had to scold him for being naughty to Kara. He and Rachel genuinely love her and love to protect her. Its very sweet.

This post feels disjointed. I've been writing it over the past 5 hours, so hopefully it makes sense. I find computer time is very rough to get to these days, which is probably for the best. I sit for 3 minutes at a time and so not a lot online gets accomplished. :)

Happy April everyone! In case I'm not back by Sunday - Happy Easter!

Did you know that Melos is on restaurant.com now? You can get 60% off right now with the coupon code SEASON but you probably already knew that. =)

We haven't been there, but it sure sounds good. Happy anniversary! Our 5th is next month.
