I'm not a big fan of baby accessories. I mean like the hair bows, shoes, belts, ties, bracelets, etc... I'm not sure why. Possibly because my worry is, I will eventually lose them and then hate myself for it. I don't like losing things, but seem to lose socks in the dryer and pacifiers from Kara's mouth, all the time! And we have a pretty strict rule of only using the paci in the crib for bedtime. Its crazy how these things disappear.

Anyway, when Kara was born, my oldest sister sent me a tiny little gold bracelet for her. I loved how dainty it was and I loved what was written on it -- "Jesus Loves Me" -- so sweet!
What I love most is when Kara wears it and how she looks especially cute with it on! She never takes it off and wears it with such a girly pride.


My Mom and I were at a consignment store today and noticed a display of hats and head bands and fell in love with them! They're hand made and just so... foofy. Is that a word? I like that word. My Mom bought Kara a head band especially for her birthday outfit tomorrow and I cannot wait to snap some pictures of her wearing it! Sadly, I will have to use my cell camera. :(
She's taking a nap right now, so I took some pictures of it hanging in our entry way.


I'm becoming a fan of the girly accessories...

I heard a Mother-Daughter duo makes these :)

I was thinking, "no accessories? what about earrings?" So it makes sense to me, that the reason you are inclined not to like the add-ons is for fear of loosing them. Earrings are what you like cuz they stay put!
That bracelet is really cute, though.

Accessories that stay on the baby and add to their beauty are... wonderful :) The earrings are totally cool b/c they stay ON and don't easily fall out.

Ug... I'm horrible with everything else.

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. For my simple mind, Blogger worked out much better for me. Sorry, husband.  I've been at this blogging thing for almost 8 years and I'm still not sick of it! I like to write {never thought I'd say that} and I really enjoy interacting with people; friends and then strangers who become friends.  Its great and its been a great way for us to share our day-to-day life with our families, since we moved.  Jason and I have been mulling around what I should do for a 1,000 blog post giveaway, just for fun. keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
