Final update on Kara's tubes

Kara had her appointment with the EN&T specialist early this morning. Well, 8am is early to our family :)
I have to thank you all SO much for praying because the results are GOOD! The specialist said that even though the right tube isn't placed perfectly in the ear drum, its close enough and doing the job it needs to do. He said its been draining fine and seems to be helping her ears. He did say her ears still have a bit of an infection, but he said if they were very infected before (which they were) then she's on a good road to recovery. He said we could do the surgery to basically make that tube insertion look perfect, but it would only be to make the tube look perfect. He firmly believes the tube is in well enough AND doing a fine job at helping her ears drain. Yay! He said because her ears are so infected and having so many issues, he has no doubt she will need at least one more set of tubes put in, as soon as this set falls out (probably sometime in the fall). His recommendation is for them to put Kara completely under for that surgery and go up into her nose and check her adenoids out. He thinks I've passed down my lovely genetic issue of large, infected adenoids (up behind the nose). Ethan had to have his removed when he was 2 and he's been blessed with only one set of ear tubes (never had to have a new set put in when the 1st set fell out) and hasn't had one single ear infection since his surgery! He wants to go up in Kara's nose and see if her adenoids are enlarged and/or infected and if they are, be ready to take them out, so they won't have to do a 2nd surgery. Otherwise, if they look fine, the worst that happened was Kara stays under a bit longer.
During the winter months, he wants me to put some eucalyptus oil in the humidifier 2 nights a week to just keep help her out a bit and keep things as clear as possible for her.
Anyway... thank you SO very much for praying for her! The specialist said its very likely that over the past week, as the Antibiotics have been healing her ear drum, the tube was able to slip into better place. So thank you... we really appreciate all your love and concern for her. Oh, he also pointed out that her teething is playing a huge role in how congested and miserable she is right now. He's about the 5th Dr. that's told us they've rarely ever seen a baby her age getting so many important, painful teeth all at once :(
We're thrilled not to be looking at a pending surgery any time soon. I think he said to expect the next surgery next year around this time. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!!

I see God ALL over that!!
I am thankful sweet Kara will be a bit older before her next surgery....and what an overachiever on the teeth, huh?
Sweet thing!
I'm praising God for the good advice, and the kind doctors you have found near your new home....if it was me I doubt I'd have even found a new pediatrician! ;)
Merry, Merry Christmas!
