New Blog

My friend Melissa pointed to this blog in her last post and I have officially linked to it, after reading for what feels like hours. I might be, I've lost track of time. This blog can also be titled "The Ways God will use Cora's life" -- it is incredible to me how God has taken 11 months of a sweet little girl's life and has used hers to bless so many others. What gets to my heart every more? Her parents count it ALL joy as they go through and encounter various trials. And boy, have they gone through trials. I was so inspired by this blog; by their love for Christ and the way their love manifests itself through them. Its not something they have to point out or prove; its very evident... because for them, its so real.

Their blog is called "the macs" -- enjoy the read. But grab some tissue first. Then go kiss and hug your sweet children and remember to be thankful for each one God has given you. No matter how loud, crazy, messy, or naughty they can be. This has been such an eye opening lesson for me. God is using this week to teach me about letting go (fully) and remembering HE is in control and because of that, I don't need to worry about it. Really. I don't.

I've decided that we can't actually enjoy, benefit from and bless others with God's goodness, until we let Him have total control over our lives. As long as we're hanging on and trying to help Him out, we will not experience true happiness in Christ. At least not in its fullest.

Merry Christmas to the "younger Arnold family!" We are walking in prayer alongside another faithful family suffering a daughter's cancer and treatments for it, and you might be interested in their story at foranna.wordpress.com . Five-year-old Anna had a bone marrow transplant yesterday, Christmas Eve, necessitated by her treatment for her primary cancer two years ago. Scott, the father, is the pastor of a nearby PCA church, and Nalene, the mother, is a co-teacher with me at a high school study center for homeschoolers. Scott's post a few days ago is so amazingly encouraging.
