the start of a fun visit

{I still have one final California post of our visit with Jason's parents, but I'm having issues with the pictures, since they're on Costco's website - as soon as his Dad can send me the originals, I'll get that post up}
Our friends from California (the Swensons) came up North for their family vacation and stayed with us! They went to Whistler, Canada as a family, but before going and upon return stayed at our home. We had a wonderful time with them and enjoyed getting to meet Ezra for the first time! 

The day they arrived, they were wiped out from early travel and so we took a little trip to Mercer Island, grabbed coffee & bagels and went to our favorite park by the lake.

Rachel slowly began taking shoes off, socks off and rolled the pants -- and that's when I knew it was only a matter of time and she'd be IN the lake :-)

I love all of your pictures!!! Must be that fabulous camera of yours! ;) loved going to mercer island with you guys after seeing those awesome pictures on your blog!! We absolutely loved our time with you guys! I miss those funny, cute kiddos already!!

Thanks Jess! I do love my camera, even if it is bottom of the line for nice cameras :) Someday I want to get the indoor lens for even better pictures.

We miss Ezra too! Ethan kept saying today "I like when we have a baby in our house." - so cute!

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. For my simple mind, Blogger worked out much better for me. Sorry, husband.  I've been at this blogging thing for almost 8 years and I'm still not sick of it! keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
