it finally happened!

Summer is {finally} here in the Pacific Northwest! And with it brings lots of new and fun summertimes joys!
... Lots of swimming

eating cereal for dinner
sleeping in undies 
running in the sprinklers 
flip-flops 
popsicles 
sun kissed skin cheeks 
driving with the windows down 

sunglasses 

field trips
dinner at the park 
evening walks 
skirts & sandals 
4th of July 
outdoor crafts 
bike rides 
gasping at 95+ degrees 
getting excited over 85- degrees 

being outside 

late sunsets 
out of town visitors! 
exploring 
bonfires & s'moars w/neighbors 
beaches & lakes 
sleeping in 
drive-in movies 

exhaustion after all the fun in the sun!  

Welcome, summer weather! We're glad you finally decided to arrive :-)

Looks like you guys are having lots of fun! Do you have friends who have a pool? We have hit the season of cold mornings and warm afternoons down here...

This past week has been a complete BLAST! But, I think the kids are paying for it today... we went to our little friend's 3rd birthday party and it was super fun, airplane theme at the park and our kids sat in a chair and complained about wanting to go home and go to bed :-)

Our friend's pool we were at that particular day is at her apartment complex. She and her husband are expecting their first baby in October!

We had the cooler mornings/evenings back in the Spring. Its been reaching the high 90's this week, so it even starts out very warm, first thing in the morning.

Wow, what a super fun time you guys are having!! I have to confess that I'm very jealous that we aren't there to celebrate with you! ;) And poor Kara looks absolutely tired...I'm guessing she's not waking up in the night anymore? Hope so! :)

That picture was taken after our LONG day at the beach... she was pooped.

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. For my simple mind, Blogger worked out much better for me. Sorry, husband.  I've been at this blogging thing for almost 8 years and I'm still not sick of it! keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
