Soaking it in...

we took my Mom to Coulon Beach Park which is about 15 minutes from our house.
Its a beach off Lake Washington, with breath taking views of Mercer Island
and miles and miles of the lake.

I think he was being an airplane :)

I loved seeing the kids run, dance, play, laugh, dig, build, swim, go deeper
{even after they said they wouldn't go in past their knees}
and just to watch them enjoy the beach as much as I used to.
There's something about being at a beach, hearing the boats go by,
hearing the wakes the boats make after they go by,
listening to kids laughing and splashing in the water,
all while relaxing on a picnic blanket, with the sun on your face. I love it.

Kara sat for a good hour, just dumping shovel upon shovel of sand into her bucket.
She was quite content.

we watched this plane come in for a landing

they were making tunnels. Rachel said it was so the fish could find their way home.

I love that when I say "hey, stand together so I can get your picture"
they put their arms around each other :)

such a fun way to spend the summer days! I think we'll be coming back here for many more visits, until the hot weather dies down and it becomes too cold to really spend the day at the beach :)

That kiss sequence is so precious!! Is the water cold there? Can't wait until Ezra is old enough to really enjoy our outings like this!!

the water is cold, for sure... but not anything like Tahoe. Its cold like the ocean is cold.
The kids had a blast! Kara was just in Heaven with her shovel and bucket :)
