a fun weekend!

A couple of weeks ago, our friends Brandon & Laura hosted a 
fun family Friday night get together! 
We all brought our own meat and side dish, Brandon BBQ'd 
and then we sat by the fire pit, roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. yummers. 
For us the night was super special because it was Jason's first evening outing
{on a work night} since going to his new shift. We love having him
come along with us in the afternoon/evenings!

The next day {Saturday} my friend Carson and I took the kids to 
The Museum of Flight, in Seattle.
Her husband was out of town on business and Jason works on Saturday, 
so we took our kids and had a day of fun! 
She has 2 boys and 1 girl, so together we have 3 boys and 3 girls :) 
Thank you, Carson, for a fabulous day!! 
I wish I had taken more and better pictures, but I haven't mastered the camera taking, 
while closely watching 3 small kids in a very crowded place. 





Riley & Kara... I think they look like twins :)

They do look like twins! It's always fun to have another mom to pal around with, especially when all the kids get along. Makes for a much easier time. Your weekend sounds (and looks) fantastic. I love all the outings you guys have!

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. For my simple mind, Blogger worked out much better for me. Sorry, husband.  I've been at this blogging thing for almost 8 years and I'm still not sick of it! keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
