in mid air

I was in the kitchen yesterday, doing the breakfast dishes and started hearing all kinds of hysterical laughter and giggling. So I followed the noise......

 .....
and found my girls having a grand time bouncing on our bed.

They've been enjoying the fact that our bed lays on the floor,
with no frame.

And I'm having fun letting them enjoy it while it lasts :)

watching my girls play together makes me feel young again.
memories of my sister and I being completely ridiculous together.

playing house
playing dress-ups
playing store
playing silly games in the car
silly games on our bunk-bed,
when we're supposed to be sleeping...

Remember the ease of childhood?
Remember the simplicity of it all?
Remember how you thought life was rough?
Remember your Mom telling you to enjoy being young?
Remember having play mates every.single.moment
of every.single.day?

Remember just not caring, because to you, the world was your oyster?
I miss those days.
I think adults should focus on being more carefree
expressing the childlike sides to our personalities more often than we do.
I think its healthy for our kids to see us cut loose every so often.
Especially if it means dancing on top of the bed with them.
Which I did :)

So fun! My kids love it when mattresses are on the ground too. :) I agree about carefree adults... why do we have to be serious all the time?

Those pictures are priceless!! And so sweet, I can't wait until my kids play together like that. Although I have three boys, so they will probably just be knocking the crud out of each other. Never mind.

Thanks!

Sunny, I don't want to discourage you, but just as soon as Ethan joined in the fun {a good 1/2 hour after it had been started} everyone was bumping heads and crying from getting hurt :(
Its odd because Ethan usually isn't the one damaging things or getting hurt... but this time, it was definitely more dangerous when he played.

I love this post Stef! Some of the most fun times I have with my girls is when were dancing around the house to music with arms waving and hopping around the room.

Boys & girls play so differently--I'm glad your girls have each other to play with. :-) And I love that you cut loose with the kids--too many of us are too uptight too often. Keep the kid inside alive! :-)

Some days I get such refreshment simply by remembering being a child. I can get pretty uptight, so for me, its always good to remember child like wonderment and joy :)
