we're done.

The move is over. Our belongings and bodies are in the new home. We're exhausted, but happy its done. 30+ hours ago we began moving things over and even though it doesn't sound like a lot of time... it sure felt like a lot of time. 
We had some awesome friends come help us out. I'm telling you. I didn't believe Superman existed until I saw the speed and skill at which Jason and his buddies worked. And because we are so extremely thankful to them for their hard work, I have to give a personal shout out to................

Josh Clayton
David Hoffman
David Haidle 
and 
Brandon Harder. 

Also, a huge thank you to our friends Katie Bliss and Heidi Dean for taking care of Ethan and Rachel, so we didn't have to worry about keeping them busy and out of trouble. 
You guys are all amazing and we love you lots. 
The house already feels like home and for that, we're so thankful.

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. For my simple mind, Blogger worked out much better for me. Sorry, husband.  I've been at this blogging thing for almost 8 years and I'm still not sick of it! keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
