pumpkins, patches, friends and thankfulness...

Right smack in the middle of our move week, we took a fun break and
ventured out to the pumpkin patch with our friends from the MOMS club.
Ended up being perfect weather, and despite the fact that this crazy Mom
didn't think to put everyone in boots {or just more appropriate shoes for a pumpkin farm}
we all really enjoyed our visit..........

I love that during one month out of the year, wherever
you go, you get to hear about thankfulness.
I do get really annoyed though, when I see an expensive car
commercial, letting husbands know a great way to tell their wife they're
thankful for her, is to buy her a car.

Really??

But for the most part, its my favorite time of year,
 simply because everyone recognizes our need to be thankful.
And as much as I am thankful for the really important things;
namely my salvation in Christ, my family, the country I live in, etc...
Sometimes I think its fun to give thanks for the little {or big}
extras that God gives us.
Those every day things we take for granted.

I'm everyday thankful for my cup of coffee
Truly
I love my iced coffee with a dash of half & half and a sprinkle of cinnamon
Completely wakes me up.
In the winter months, it turns into a hot cup of coffee and added with waking me up,
its just oh, so cozy and warm, first thing in the morning.

I'm thankful for electricity. And no, I don't consider this a "little" blessing.
This one is huge. I don't fully understand how huge until I lose it.

I'm thankful for the Internet. As with anything else, if abused, its not a good tool,
but when used properly, its a huge blessing!
 I love that we can keep in close contact with far away family & friends.

I'm thankful for peanut M&M's.
Silly? Not for me.
Lets just say, once a month, these treats come in super handy for me ;-)

I'm thankful for other blogs
I love reading about how my friends are all doing.
I love meeting new people through them; striking new friendships.
I enjoy getting to see my friend's kids; how they're growing and
fun things they all do!
I love the creative blogs; pretending, as I read, that I could easily create what I see.

I'm thankful for good humor
Life would be SO dull without humor - more reasons to smile and laugh out loud.
I love wittiness, sarcasm, fun pranks, letting loose, making fun of myself.

I'm thankful for stores like Target, Walmart, Costco, Fred Meyer
{depending on where you live, I'm sure they're a bit different}
The big department stores with pretty much everything you need in one stop.
I wasn't very thankful for stores like these, until we had 3 kids.

And in all serious and getting a little deeper....

I am thankful to Jesus Christ -- for setting my captive heart free.
For filling that deep whole of void in my life with His beautiful grace.
For blessing me with my pretty awesome husband and our children.
For daily showing me what His goodness looks like.
For giving me the silly list above {and so much more} to be thankful for.

they're thankful for each other :)

I'm thankful for this great month of November, where we get to focus
our attention on the attitude of thankfulness
Its going to be a fun blog month here, with lots of posts on this very topic.

And... a super fun giveaway as well!!

Stay tuned :)

Thanks Ladies!
Ally, we are so thankful to God for blessing us, not only with a pretty amazing church, but with awesome friends there, like you and Nick!

Thanks Krista! We had fun. I'm hoping to try out some other, more fun looking ones next year. I did some investigating and I think, though this one was fun, there are even better ones out there!

Great photos, Stef!

Sitting down and remembering the many things we have to be thankful for sure can change your perspective. Thanks for the reminder to be thankful!
