we've given up on regular clothes

If you happen to drop in on any given day around here, you rarely find any of our kids in regular clothes. 
I think we ought to pack up the regular clothes and give them to charity or something ;-) 
I will say, it is frustrating when I get the kids all dressed and ready to head out the door, I run to the bathroom, come out, grab the keys, open the front door and Kara comes down the stairs in 
nothing but a tu-tu and undies. I mean, really?! 
But on the days when we're just home hanging out, its really quite cute. 
I get a kick out of the outfits Rachel especially picks out. She usually looks very 'weather confused'.

She was singing "Rock of Ages" at the top of her lungs here.

Its a good outfit for Washington. 

this isn't exactly 'dress-ups' but I thought I'd post Ethan 1st birthday present here. 
His birthday falls on Superbowl Sunday and we knew it would be a slim chance 
to have the Seahawks IN the Superbowl, so we let him open this jersey today, 
assuming this would be the Hawks last game of the season. 
They ended up doing a pretty good job against the Bears; final score 35-24, Bears win.

They are so cute! Kara's curls are delicious! It is hard to get my kiddos to dress 'normal' too. Jameson pretty much lives in his jammies...in fact, he is much more the 'diva' in the house when it comes to what to wear!

We were bummed the Seahawks didn't make it :(

Oh, how I know all about this. Dress up clothes seem to be the only things little girls wear in the winter months!

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. For my simple mind, Blogger worked out much better for me. Sorry, husband.  I've been at this blogging thing for almost 8 years and I'm still not sick of it! keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
