I {heart} Pinterest...

.... but I'm not as "into" it as most people. My friend Erin sent me an invite a month ago or so and I have enjoyed it more than I thought I would {thanks, Erin!}
Such an odd distraction, you know? I'm still not quite sure what it is, other than photo/idea sharing... but there's been odder inventions ;-)
Tonight I decided doing a photo post of Pinterest pics that I love would be fun. Hope you agree. I think its a fun way to end the week and go into the weekend. So enjoy your long weekend, friends!

**Also, remember to let me know if you want to be on the reading list when I set this blog to private this Sunday.

am I the only person who's actually dreamed about
having a mud room?
This is what it would look like.
The floor would be cement though. I like cement floors.

************************************

the daisy lamp is from IKEA. We love it.
When we go to IKEA, we always stop and look at it.
I love the wall color in this picture, but I think I'm not brave enough yet to have a wall that color.
We've been given permission to do "whatever you'd like!" to the new house. I might go ahead
and become color bold with a room in that house :)

I love this idea. Love it.
After we move I'd like to do something similar.
I'm planning to use larger bins,
because we'd run out of space with these.
I've been trying to find new ways to help show our kids how we practically do these things and do them with purpose and intention.
Not just freaking out once a year, purging through our things only after we realize we have way too much and decided to give to charities or whatever. I think all that shows them is, Mommy's losing her head because she hates messes and poor people benefit = sad.
I've been working on putting together a box of goodies to give to homeless people with signs on street corners.
If you have any ideas beyond bottled water, a Bible and a tract, let me know! I feel like maybe a tooth brush and toothpaste would be good.
Just remember, nothing too large though.

Jason and I have only been married 7 years.
But I already know this to be true

since I was 16 years old, this statement has been true.
He's my absolute favorite person in the world.

Isn't this wedding cake delicately beautiful?
I love it.
I loved our wedding cake though.
I've still not seen one that I like more than ours.
I loved the real, bright flowers on it.
I love the gorgeous beauty and yet total simplicity in it.
It was perfect. And it fit Jason and my taste perfectly.
I loved that my friend Leah made it. It was even more special to me because of that.

I just thought this one was a sweet cake. I love that its white and delicate and so pretty. I almost wouldn't want to cut into it. But I know I'd talk myself into it :)

I'm not quite sure yet, how I feel about white washed and all things vintage.
I know Jason isn't a fan.
I'm a fan of "all things in moderation".

But, I love the beach and this kitchen reminds me of a kitchen in a home, by the beach.

I could live with it.

the rug is IKEA.
its only $20 bucks.
I know exactly where its going in our new home.
and bright yellow with the rug has become my new favorite.

Yes, please.

I showed this to Ethan and he said "Oh! Is this going to be my new bedroom?" Ha! Not quite. But the kids all agreed if the new playroom looked like this, they'd have very few complaints.

Kara loves The Very Hungry Caterpillar book.
She saw this cupcake idea and flipped her lid.
In a good way.
I'm gonna try {try} this idea for her 3rd birthday party.

Yes. Love. And there's 3 of them!
I see things in 3's since we have 3 kids :)

The owner of our new home has a cute white hutch she's giving
to me. She told me it will be mine and I can feel free to do
whatever I want with it. I'm going to do this to the glass window doors. Can't wait! I'll post pics :)

But I was recently told its not actually the 1st.
Its very close to the very 1st one though :)

Man! I pinned that "first Starbucks" photo on my Pintrest. Now I learn it's not the real thing! :-(

I know! Don't even get me started. I'm still trying to prove those people wrong, but even with all my research, they appear to be right. I believe this one was the 2nd one though, so not far off :)

Love these pics (and your thoughts connected with them), Stef.
And as for the mudroom, that's totally a larger version of what I'm planning for our mudroom in our new house. Now I have a picture to show hubby what I'm envisioning; thanks. ;)

Melissa, when you're done, please post pictures! I have a thing for mud rooms - what awesome inventions!

I think mud rooms are super cool, too. And, very practical in the wetter climates, like you now live in! And, I have dreams of concrete in my kitchen. Either a floor (maybe with a built in drain) or counter tops. Some day perhaps. :)
The cupcake caterpillar is adorable! My mom always made us a caterpillar cake, cutting a bundt cake & putting into a "s" shape. Do you remember that?

I agree about pinterest-- I really think it's for those who have extra down time or sit in front of a desk often?! A time for visual dreaming of sorts when you're bored?! But I do like collecting ideas for different topics!

I dream about having a mudroom one day too!! :)

And I love those gutter shelves-- we're planning on going a few in E's big boy room. They are our next DIY project- super duper easy!!

Keep me on your reader list, pleeeaze!

I dream of a mud room too--you're so not alone! Oh, and a utility room too--you know, a place where you can have your washing machine and dryer as well as a sink and a counter space. Priceless!
