4th of July!

 We had our good friends {more like family} over for the 4th of July and we had a blast!
The first part of the day was spent just the 5 of us. Very relaxing, began some light packing, did some touch up paint, but mostly just enjoyed each other's company and played in the kiddie pool.

{our almost 6 1/2 year old boy}

{turning FIVE next week!}

{and 2 1/2 year old firecracker}

this picture makes me LOL :)
She got out of bed, put her clothes on and then ran outside for a picture.
She stepped out and made this pose and said
"why on earf is it SO hot already??!!"

The Fergusons arrived around 4pm and the festivities began!
 we celebrated Rachel's 5th birthday at the same time, since its coming up next week!
Cambria is a very good friend of hers and so we had a small party with her.
The girls got sole possession of the Wii for the first part of the day.

 panicked right before singing "Happy Birthday" to Rachel, when
I realized we had NO candles. Good planning, Mommy.
Dani suggested a tea candle and I had one!

 it worked and I'm not sure Rachel ever noticed :)

 Jason said the sun coming in fron the back windows made this funny glow look in the pictures.

 I cannot believe she's gonna be five years old! It feels like its gone by way too fast. I'm going to do an actual birthday post for her birthday, so more to come on our girl later.

 she got to open the present from the Fergusons and then asked if she could open Auntie Jenny and Uncle Jeff's present that arrived the day before. I thought the looks on our faces were hilarious in this picture.
She loves this Barbie :)

 waiting for it to get dark for fireworks to start. Seattle is the city you see in the distance here.

 the kids watched a movie while they waited...

 almost there!!

 faithful friends are hard to find.
I've been blessed with several.

 "wait! is that a firework?!"

 Josh & Dani

 dark or not, they started!!

 I can't remember who had the idea to climb through the bathroom window onto the roof... but I took the idea and ran with it :)

 best.view.ever!

 I absolutely LOVE fireworks.

it was a great 4th of July - hope yours was too!

Love the fireworks pictures! So cool. We didn't get to see any this year and I really missed it, SO thank you for sharing.
Love the Kara picture in the beginning. So adorable. All of you kids are getting so big. I'm so glad you all had a great 4th of July.

Okay, I love the photos where Rachel is blowing out her candle, (which was a great idea by the way,)and Kara is just starring and licking her lips, looking at that gorgeous cupcake.

And I would be right out there on the roof with you! :-)
