we love visitors... especially family

Jason's family came up for a visit! His parents had planned on coming up on the 10th and then at the last minute his sister and her husband decided to come as well! It was SO fun having everyone together - which doesn't happen often since we moved :(
Jeff and Jenny surprised our kids and Jason's parents with their visit, which was pulled off quite well and everyone was shocked. They stayed until Sunday and Jason's parents flew back to CA on Monday night.
We celebrated Jason's 30th birthday with them, which isn't really until the 19th, but we pretended.
Grandpa and Grandma also brought a few gifts for the kids.

everyone agrees, he's growing up way too fast.

we gave Daddy 3 candles instead of 30

Along with their visit, they gifted Jason {for his 30th birthday} and I with a 2 day getaway to Seattle and beyond! We haven't gone away over night just the two of us since before Kara was born, so this was a pretty exciting trip for us. We ate dinner our first night at the Crab Pot. A place in Seattle I've been aching to go to and crack the crab legs and eat them :) It lived up to everything I thought it would be! We mostly just enjoyed being together, with no distractions. Lots of walking Downtown and just relaxing together.
Bliss.

they had these yummy treats waiting for us!

we thought this cauliflower was SO cool!

dinner at The Crab Pot - so delicious and fun

The second night we had another fabulous dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, which was another first for us. We were pleasantly surprised that even though the menu was more pricey than what we'd normally spend, they do have some awesome dinner deals. We got a deal that included a starter, main course, side dishes and dessert for $40 - when the food is that amazing, I'd pay any price :)

Thanks to my in-laws for an amazing time away together and for taking such great care of our kids for us!

Sunday was spent relaxing together, attending church and relaxing together some more. Grandma brought lots of fun projects for the kids and the girls loved their bead/necklace set!

On Monday we took Grandpa and Grandma to the Museum of Flight {Boeing} and had a blast! We ended up buying a family pass for 18 months because I know we'll go back and it ends up being a great deal to the passes instead of paying each time. So if any of you have an interest in going while you're here, let us know!

We love you, Grandpa & Grandma!
Thank you for coming to visit us!

Okay...so you'd better check your caption--or should I say craption--for the photo of you at the Crab Pot. LOL! I'm glad you had such a great time with Jason's family. As of yet, only Matt's mom has visited us here. I'm hoping my dad will decide to come in the near future.
