A "ramble" sort of post :)

I'm sitting here with two kiddos, after a long, but fun day. They're on either side of me with their blankets, watching a movie. Every once in a while Rachel leans over, lifts my shirt and kisses my tummy, saying "I wuv you, baby".
I'm suddenly struck with the huge blessings God has put in my life. My husband, my kids, our home, our families, friends, our church, etc... the list literally could go on and on.

Sure I have my hard days, but who doesn't? My Mom also reminded me today that its silly to sit around and go through the business of life, as if mine is so different from any one else's. Its kind of funny the way I do that. I have friends who have much more stress in their lives (real stress, like the worry of losing a child to a sickness at any moment or trials that very few of us ever have to encounter) and they're the ones that God uses to remind me that my life is normal. Nothing out of the norm... but full of His blessings.

Ethan was an especially naughty boy today. I don't know why, but he was. He took great delight in making sure I did not sit in a chair for very long... unless I wanted to let his ugly side go by the way-side. After his shower tonight, we were getting his pj's on and he gave me the biggest hug and said "Sorry Mommy... tomorrow I'm going to be a good 3 year old boy." Made my day.
He knows he pushes my buttons, but what I hope is that he sees my love for him and my example of Christ to him. Its so hard to show during the "day in and day out", but if I can't show Christ to my kids... I surely can't show Him to anyone else.

We're enjoying the weather, when its not scorching hot.

Newsflash** I do not like the hot, summer weather.

Today was nice. It peeked around 95 (maybe not even that hot) and was pleasant. We went to my Mom's for a short walk and then we hung out there for most of the day, while the men were hearing doing touch up work and fixing things here and there around our house. Isn't that nice? The joys of owning a brand new home. We get these perks for the next 5 years too! It was cool to come home and see all the corners of my baseboards touched up, the cracked tile in the bathroom replaced, the fan in our master bathroom not making that "click-click" sound anymore and the stucco on the front porch touched up. Pulte is awesome.

Tomorrow the kids and I are venturing out with a play group to go pick cherries. We can't wait! Ethan is especially thrilled since he loves cherries.

Since it appears to be here... happy summer to you all!

Aw, that's so cute that Ethan apologized on his own like that. A tender conscience is a great blessing!

And how nice that Pulte fixed all of that for you! Is that the stuff that they came out to look at when we went to breakfast that day?

Stay cool! Our AC isn't working right now, so I'm really not enjoying the heat! :(

Oh man, I'm sorry your A/C isn't working! My parents had to get theirs fixed last week as well. Ours hasn't been used much at all, but you have to remember, our house is way smaller than yours. We leave the windows all open at night and then at 7am I get up and shut the ones facing the sun rise and then I cover our glass back door with a dark sheet. We flip on the fans and it kept the house at 78 all day! We did use the A/C on one day (when it was super hot) it came one when the house got to 82. :(

Oh... yes, the day we had breakfast was the day our service guy came out to do the walk through and mark down any problems we had that needed to be fixed/touched up. :)
