We took my Mom to Luther Burbank Park the day after she arrived
{so these pictures are coming on 3 weeks old, sorry}
and had a very relaxing, fun time!
I love this brick building. Every time we walk by it, I have these day dreams about the people who used to live there, back in the day. It has the most grand view of Lake Washington and I just love how its entirely made of brick.


if you can see the little sail boats, these are several little kids having sail boat lessons. Ethan was super excited to see this and announced that he would like to do the same when he comes of age.

Thanks Jessi! Jason has been told (more than once since moving here) that he looks much healthier. I guess its the fact that he's not working in an office 24/7 and gets to be out doors more :)

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. For my simple mind, Blogger worked out much better for me. Sorry, husband.  I've been at this blogging thing for almost 8 years and I'm still not sick of it! keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
