you know how people say "weather permitting" when they're making plans with someone?
Well, around here, you learn to say that A LOT.
Otherwise you'd be in for quite the disappointment, quite often :)
We enjoyed almost 2 weeks of full sun and what looked like the beginnings of Spring
{though the temps remained pretty low} and I think some famous groundhog saw his shadow
whatever that even means, since it never seems to bring Spring any sooner.
but you'd never know it this week. Snow, snow, snow!!
this is what the blizzard looked like. The wind was blowing so hard, the snow
from my bedroom window... literally minutes after the blizzard.
skies got blue, sun came out....
and kids went out to play!
we ended up getting quite a bit more snow over the next couple of days, but I was
too much of a wimp to go out and take pictures.
{taken through the family room window}
the sunset was beautiful that night.

and while it hailed and snowed and the wind blew...

we were in the house, cozy in our pj's - all day long.
I dug through clothes bins in the garage {Kara is already needing some 3T clothes}
and did things like vacuum the stairs - why is this task so daunting for me?!
got caught up on laundry.
and of course, did lots of school, games and crafts.
for the kids penmanship we use 'Handwriting Without Tears'
and its been a great program!
I made lunch for Kara and sat her down at the kitchen table, only to find her,
moments later, up at the kitchen counter on one of our stools,
looking at one of my favorite DIY/photography websites.
She's Mommy's girl, that's for sure! :)
I found these containers at IKEA for less than $5 a piece!
I wanna say the big red one was $3.50 and the white one was $2
I found a couple pictures I think Kara took with my camera and decided to post them,
as proof to those of you who think my house is always clean.
I assure you, its not.
Especially since we've begun home schooling - I find that the kitchen table
always looks like a library threw-up on it, or a secret experiment is taking place.
there you have it. we have messy days too :-)

I love the big RELAX sign over your bookcase! I think it might be mocking me a bit. hee hee :-)
We still have quite a bit in our neighborhood - its fun driving around seeing everyone's snow men :)
Thanks! That Relax sign is something I used to have by my jetted tub in our house in CA (it seemed fitting) and now I like keeping it where I can see it often (probably for the same reasons you thought it was mocking you!) haha :)
Krista, SO sad! I keep seeing all these people on FB saying its snowing in the bay area - do you still have none? I wonder if you're too close to the ocean.
So cute that the kids got to have snow day in their own backyard! Fun!
Thanks Erin (those were secretly for Laura :)
Totally hear you on that one!
And what beautiful pictures of the sky. Really , really fun to have snow.
And that snow is just gorgeous!! I'm so jealous you're getting all kinds of fun weather with just enough time to enjoy it.
