eat sleep and farm

After we played at the park and went to explore "Solvang Island",  we ventured back to the lake {our kids call it the ocean}  and played for the rest of the afternoon.   We love this lake and love that its SO close to our current home and even  closer to our new home! Woot-woot! :)  This is the same place where we saw the Christmas Lights display in December.       I was told this is not a sand castle. Its a sand tower. Now you know .       I saw the girls following Ethan, talking to him about whether or not there were sharks in the water.       He assured them that if there were, Mommy would never allow us to be in here.       Rachel seemed worried that maybe sharks would sneak in and Mommy wouldn't know and Ethan      continued assuring her that sharks couldn't get in Lake Washington, even if they wanted to.     "Its...

 Lately when we ask her to smile or when she sees the camera, we get this face. We see it a lot these days. So my new thing is to just not care.  Because I don't think she has to smile....  I just think she looks nicer when she does smile :)   On this afternoon I said "your face looks much better when you DO smile."  And I got the following pictures....   better, right?  we've never been to this park and its only 10 minutes from our house! We met some friends from church there on Tuesday afternoon and had a great time.      our buddy Gideon.      Ethan has loved Gideon since the day he was born. He tells me he'd like a baby brother like him     someday and gets a big kick out of teaching him big boy things.  We had our good friends {more like family} over for the 4th of July and we had a blast! The first part of the day was spent just the 5 of us. Very relaxing, began some light packing, did some touch up paint, but mostly just enjoyed each other's company and played in the kiddie pool. {our almost 6 1/2 year old boy}  {turning FIVE next week!}  {and 2 1/2 year old firecracker}  this picture makes me LOL :)  She got out of bed, put her clothes on and then ran outside for a picture.  She stepped out and made this pose and said  "why on earf is it SO hot already??!!"  The Fergusons arrived around 4pm and the festivities began!  we celebrated Rachel's 5th birthday at the same time, since its coming up next week!
