Rachel can officially count to 10! I was doing a puzzle with Ethan today and it had numbers on it. He was missing a few, so to help him figure out which numbers he needed, we were counting from 1-20. Rachel was in her room playing and we all of the sudden heard her saying "un, two, free, fow, five, sits, heven, ate, nine, TEN!"
Ethan and I jumped up from the table and ran into room and asked her to do it again for us, but of course... she doesn't perform on demand.
She did count for Daddy when he got home from work, so at least we know she really can do it. :)

Anyway, thrilling news.

I know... I was so excited. I keep viewing her as this little baby, so lately with all her talking, she seems SO big!

I read your post about Ethan using the word "couple" and later Ezra started using it as well. Matt had used it the day before, asking Ezra if needed a couple of books to sit on at the dinner table, and the next day Ezra was using it around the house. Pretty funny!

that is so funny! Its amazing what words they catch on to. I'm sure Ethan has heard us say it a lot, I was just amazed that he knew how to use the word properly.
How old is Ezra? I think they're pretty close in age.

One Thousandth blog post + GIVEAWAY!!

This marks the  one thousandth blog post   for me !  If you added the blogging over at Jastef.net, I'm sure it would be far more, but I haven't blogged over there since Kara was a baby. For my simple mind, Blogger worked out much better for me. Sorry, husband.  I've been at this blogging thing for almost 8 years and I'm still not sick of it! keeping the sickies away

Probably like most of you Moms, I've been sick of being sick throughout the winter. Its such a fun, holiday time of year and totally stinks when you're stuck inside, with illnesses. And, if you're not a fan of getting a vaccine for every little bug that goes around, you end up realizing you have to do your research to learn how to build up the immune systems and keep your brood healthy. I'm also learning that when it comes to sickness {we're talking sickness that won't cause death}, its actually good for our bodies to learn to fight things off naturally and not constantly running to get shots or drugs to cure us from ever getting sick again {which those shots don't do anyway}.  I'm no pro and my oldest child isn't even 7 yet, so I'm definitely not posting this to teach you ladies anything. And, for those of you with older kids, feel free to leave tips for how you keep your family healthy or natural ways to fight off colds and viruses.  ...
