Favorite things...

Image
These are just a few of my favorite things , around my house. Things (and people) I thank God for daily . Things I so often take for granted.  I'd love to see what your favorite things/people are, but I don't want to make any of you feel obligated to do this. Which is why I didn't tag any of you in this post.  I had some time and thought this would be fun, so if you do as well, please share! I'm not into photo editing {because I have no idea what I'm doing} so I know for some of you, this would mean hours and hours of time you don't have. I just ran around the house and snapped a few of my favorite spots, views, things and, of course, people. I also wanted you to get a real glimpse into our home, so I purposefully (as you can see) didn't go around cleaning each room before taking the pictures.  Even if you just share a couple pix, it would be fun to have that glimpse into your life. If you do share and don't mind me doing so, I'd love to link t...

you asked... here they are!

Kid quotes are back! I've been keeping quite a large log for the past 3 months. Knock yourselves out. {Funny} Quotes: After posting this one on FB, its won first place... ** Ethan: "Rachel, God created the world in 6 days... how long will it take you to clean up these toys?" Rachel: "longer than God." ** Stef: "Rache, where are you going?" Rachel: "I have an opportunity to use the potty and I'm takin' it!" ** Rachel: "I wish I cream made my brain feel smarter. I'd rather eat ice cream than broccoli." **Stef: "oh, man! I forgot to defrost the meat for dinner tonight. Great. I guess we're having sandwiches!" Ethan: "just push the restart button, Mommy." ** Rachel: "what does Daddy do at work when he's there?" Stef: "he helps people at Amazon, all over the world, to understand how to fix their computers and stuff." Rachel: "oh! we could pay him to stay hom...

Mercer Island...

Image
We love Mercer Island. Its not a place I'd want to live -- too many older, retired people that wouldn't be thrilled with their island being taken over by large(r) families. Also, since its very close to Seattle and on a private island, it would be a poor use of our money to rent/own a home there. But its an awesome place to visit! Its very quaint and modern at the same time. Lots of fun shops, places to eat {um, can we say Noah's Bagels!?!?} and some of the best parks around! My favorite thing about the island is that pretty much wherever you are, you've got an amazing view of Lake Washington. Its breath taking in the stormy or sunny weather. Yesterday we headed out for bagels and coffee and then went to Luther Burbank Park {on the island} before Jase headed off to work. It was the perfect park weather, not too warm, not too cool and we had a great time exploring some new trails and fun spots we had never been to before. I know its a lot of pictures and I know ...

I can't remember what we were doing here... possibly waiting for Ethan to join the picture... but when Ethan joined in, Kara walked out :-)  my guys <3 I was so bummed Ethan didn't smile for this one :( Kara was trying to rest her elbows on the ground and hold her face with her hands....  yeah... like that , mom! almost....  she got it!!  Ethan said "I guess we could live in one of those houses across the lake"  :) these two pictures are SO typical of Ethan and Kara.  First picture: Ethan is always checking to make sure Kara's okay...  Second picture: Kara is fine and always wanders off by herself :)  the wishing flower... walking back to the car.  the end.
